Old Fat Guy Nationals *new thread* NW/WEST COAST PEOPLE OR WHOMEVER!

I decided to go ahead and get this new thread going today! To those of you that have never seen the info on this event I figured a fresh thread with all the info/committed attendees was in order so let me break this down for everyone (cue hammer song)

WHAT: Old Fat Guy Nationals (old school or new BMX/Freestyle bicycle show/swap/trails ride/FREE BBQ)

WHERE: River park, Lebanon Oregon

WHEN: July 18th 2009, 10 A.M.- whenever

COST: FREE!! (there will be a donation can to offset BBQ expenses and begin a bigger plan for next year)

The day will begin with the show/swap and gradually move into the BBQ around noonish. I will provide swap tables for who ever needs them, but you are also completely welcome to set your stuff right next to your bike. After eating, swapping and B.S.in' we shall move down the trail to Lebanons world famous "Dikes" Jumping area. The cool thing about the Dikes is that it is back in the trees and is usually pretty empty. I was there the other day and it was just me a buddy and his two kids. Lots of room to roam and not every jump has huge gaps. Right down the way from the dikes is also very good river access and Gary was thinking about bringing a ramp for river jumping... At that point we can go back to the park and enjoy some more fellowship and chillin'. I was considering going from there to Capitol city BMX in Salem (about 30 miles away) for the races that night if anybody else wants in too?? For those of you wanting to stay the night, Lebanon has a few Motels and the park has an RV park called "gills landing RV" (1400 E Grant St , Lebanon or 97355/ 541-258-4917)that costs about $30 a night to stay. My house is also an option but I can't fit the whole crew LOL

with that said here are some pics of the venues:

I believe Jesus would have rode a GT Performer....carpenters can't afford Hutch.

While urinating, Chuck Norris is easily capable of welding titanium.

Driving a fast Honda is like coming out of the closet....sure it surprises you at first, but in the end you`re still gay.

Re: Old Fat Guy Nationals *new thread* NW/WEST COAST PEOPLE OR WHOMEVER!

i am still trying to figure out if it is worth the effort to bring a ramp and a couple small life jackets for some bike vs water action?

I would say it is 50/50...I say that because I do not know how deep the water is where it would be possible to jump. I have not been able to go out in the river yet to test it...looks deep enough though

its only a measly 1260 mi according to mapquest.

just doing some rough math, thats near 6 million pedals on the cruiser.  id consider it if it were closer to 4 milloin, thats more my range.   lol

avalanche country is denver, dont want to celebrate it since we just had the worst season in avs history.   i hope duchene pulls thru & we sign a decent goalie, then well be contenders.........

..........in about 3 years.
