1990 TANJAE (AUSTRALIA)
1990 TANJAE (AUSTRALIA)
Bullet proof race bike from sometime in the early 90's Australian made.
This bike has some qulity workmanship in regards to welds etc.Beefy rear dropouts and a double reinforcement that starts at the lower front section & ends at the start of the rear brake mount. In addition an alternative bottom brake mount, despite its extra tubing it is reasonably light. The Co.built later models that featured alloy tubing I know this because I viewed a 24" model. It looked much more refined in geometry as well. The aim I guess at the time was to eliminate flex in the frame when jumped. There was a bar pad that was given with the bike when I picked it up, a tartan Scotish type design.Don't confuse this bike with the Japanese Tange.Could be used for dirt jumping with the amount of strength it bears.Have you seen another like it?

Re: 1990 TANJAE (AUSTRALIA)
Tanjae was a small company operated out of dysart in qld--- sometime in the mid 90's it was sold of to a bloke who took it into another direction and well they didnt last tooo long after that the frames before the sell off were awesome pieces of gear but after the sell off the new owner -- kept the geomtey and basic layout of the frames however he wasnt too sure on the heat treating process resulting in every frame he turned out just simply cracking and breaking even under minimal stress--- a shame because early in the 90's tanjaes were ans awesome bike
Ive never seen so much raw determination and talent in one kid!!!

Yeah new to the forum, noticed this in the meseum & thought I would chuck my 2 cents worth in... Jason & Tanya Spence owned the company when it started, hence how the name came about - Tanya/Jason TAN/JAE... They were based in Rockhampton & the bikes (when cro-mo frames) were made by Dwayne Prasser out of the Maxxim camp.... Tanjae also went into the aluminium frames near the end of Jason & Tanya's run with the business.... I had the first Tanjae on the market (other than Jason's prototype) (Picture Below of my bike - 1993 Model)... I rode for them in at the start of the company ('93), just help get the name out there.... I was just an average rider, but I had the gift of the gab in helping push the name out there & always kept my bikes in tip top order, hence the bike always looked the goods for the company... Factory colours where Blue & Muskjie pink. A young bloke by the name of Ben (cant remember his last name) was the Factory rider locally for them when they went to the Alloy frames...
