This was my last bike of the old era.  I was always trying to figure out different crap I could bash.

So badass.  Looks fantastic.

Re: 1989 Haro Team Master

I had one of these new in 89. Waited 9 weeks for it to arrive in Australia. Got slugged $220.00 for freight. Then $180.00 from customs. Went down a hill first day and the RL hub locked and threw me over the bars and broke my thumb. Went to a party and it got stolen. Found it 3 months later in the window of a local pawn shop. Then got run over by a lady in traffic even though her daughter was waving to me before she hit me. Busted my ankle, couldn't walk without crutches but still kept riding. Until my ankle got worse and spent a week in a wheel chair.
Man I miss those days. One thing I don't miss is trying to stop those 3 peice fusion cranks from creaking. They looked great but where really noisey.

Re: 1989 Haro Team Master

dd4130, were are you from in Australia? I am in Melbourne. I lived in the Uk in 89 so it was easy to get the bike back then. I know Repco Sport did not bring in any haro bikes in 1989. I new of 3 riders in Australia that got the 89 master. These babies were very rare in OZ and still are. As for the cranks, I hear you there. I would have to say they were crap! I stripped the pedals out of the alloy arms in a couple of weeks. John

I'm in Nowra on the South Coast. I was in the US in 89 and ordered a black 88 master but when I got back to Australia I had a note from American Cycle Express saying they had none left so I got the 89 team master in chrome. I sold it in 1991 to a local guy but he hasn't got it anymore. I kept the cranks and put them on my 91 air master. There was another guy in Sydney that ordered a black team master and got killed by a train before it arrived. He lived around Cronulla and I think his brother ended up with it.

When I built the Chrome and the Black master's I had them in my bedroom for a week. I woke up every day and just starred at them. I still can'r believe my luck that I have many friends that have helped my withy parts I need. Also it does help being in the BMX wholesale side of thing's. John

Thats not so bad, I reckon I had mine in my room for 6 months in 89. I've still got the box if you are that crazy. D.

Re: 1989 Haro Team Master

Before I was married my bikes were allway's in my room. But when I re-built the two master's I had them in my bedroom for the week as my wife was away. Bike are not aloud in the bedroom. I think wives have more rules than parents do!

Hey teamharo. I saw your stickers, they rule. I have now got an 89 frame and i'm wondering if you do the stickers for the chrome frame (pink/white). I'm the guy from North Nowra. My email address is deanadruce@hotmail.com or you can contact me on 0412523287. Cheers dd4130.
