1982 Race Inc. RA-24
1982 Race Inc. RA-24
Great Geometry
The frame is almost mint condition with factory red paint. There are a few chips/scratches. Reproduced sticker set, which looks ok but not great. I have never ridden this frame because the original fork dropout was cracked, which I might get fixed some time down the line. The replacement "stamped" Landing gear was a real pain to locate because of the 5" headtube. The Pro Neck 13/16" seat post is bent, and will be replaced soon with a VDC flutted aluminum post!

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24
Thanks for the Kudos. ![]()
I had to use an Odyssey Toro headset because I needed
a very low stack height. It was anodized purple, so I polished
the headset. You are seeing a reflection of the headlock off
the top cup! Shiney baby shiney.....gotta have shiney!!!!

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24
The Dia-compe 1000 was anodized blue but faded
and scratched up. I polished that too, but only left
the blue anodize in the cracks so it would say MX.
I didn't want to fill in the letters with paint since
I suck with a small paint brush.
Profile seat clamp was polished too.

Wow Stonie. You really put those forks to good use. That frame is amazing. I have been rideing my survivor RA24 quite a bit. These are really great bikes. Get this thing built so you can enjoy it.

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24
Hey Mike.....
Yea, the fork looks great on the bike.
It was barely long enough, I only have about 2 threads
holding on the Tange lock nut. That will be enough to
keep it tight though.
I will eventually get it built up, but have sooooo many
projects going as most of us do!!
Have a great weekend, talk with you later.....
Jeff

Yeah, I have totally stopped working on this Race Inc Cruiser build.
I might never finish it, don't know. I do enjoy looking at it hanging on the wall.
I got preoccupied with this PL-24 build
and Dan Gurney/R&R sickhack restoration instead.... ![]()

yeah, it took me a couple years to find mine
but when I did find it I got it NOS, for a third of what I would have paid, so it was worth the wait
these are sweet posts, it's the icing on the cake for my bike.
Sweet ride, I'd love to see it finished.

It is sad to say but the Race Inc cruiser isn't even on the list to build.
When my kid starts riding a bike maybe I will build it?
Those Tioga 13/16" posts are hard to find in NOS condition, got mine for less than $35
Just bought a straight Tioga 13/16" post as well, still uncertain if I'm going to run
the layback or the straight post.
