Re: 1988 Norco Freestyler

Are you sure that is a 1990? The reason I ask is that Darren Nordell was sponsored by Norco here in Sherwood Park, and he had one of those bikes, and it seems to me it was quite a bit before 1990. I could be wrong though. As a side note, Darren was quite the flatlander in Cnada in those days, but he didn't always ride the Norco. There were definately some Haros's out there with Norco stickers. These bikes might have been ridden at riding clinics that were put on, so the younger kids could see the norco stickers. Anyways, you collections is awesome, were you ever at any of the big contests here in Western Canada?

Re: 1988 Norco Freestyler

I just picked up a NORCO racing frame (83 or 84) with Akisu forks and it is sweet. I didn't even know Norco did freestyle bikes.  What's up with that number plate Chucky?  tongue

NORCO is the best!!!  I love it man.  I remeber looking at the Norco catalog when I was a kid wanting one of these.  Sweet bike!  Saskatoon huh?  That's my old stomping grounds.  Used to live there.  smile

Re: 1988 Norco Freestyler

This is definately an 88'.  I had the same bike except mine was chrome/hot pink/black instead of yellow. I believe it was called the Norco Pro Series Freestyler.  It was kinda cool.  Long like a Sport, looks of a Dyno and chrome rear triangle... but the rear platforms on the lower chainstay got in the way, alot of people sawed them off.  I remember I was the first in town with a 990 rear brake AND the first guy to ride a pink bike.  I was cool as hell, lol!  Nice pics man, brought back some memories!!
