1985 Hutch Wind Styler
1985 Hutch Wind Styler
A.K.A. The Hutch Performer *This bike has been sold*
I bought this Hutch Frame before I knew Hutch pedals cost $300. Need I say more. I wanted a freestyle rider so I could try some flatland tricks. I paid almost nothing for the frame but it turned into a "stripper". (I threw a lot of dollars at it) I love this bike! It rides solid.
The frame is a Hutch Windstyler. The forks are GT Performer. The bars are GT performer. I had Performer O.G.K. Mags on it, but I hated the way it felt when I rode it. I put some Weinmann rims with Gt Mohawk Hubs. That made the bike go from a 7 to a 10 in my opinion. It has Lee Chi freestyle brakes (NOS with the levers and the cables included), a SST Oryg, Deli gumwall tires, and an SR MS-422 stem. I put a tricktop seat on a GT layback seat post. It's got A'me grips, VP pedals, and a white and chrome chain on it too. Since it is a Hutch after all, I put a Hutch spider on it with a Takagi chainring and a Takagi one piece crank. I also tried some Odyssey "Liberty" pegs but they weighed a ton so I'm going to go with something different.
So after all I can't tell if it's a GT or a Hutch but I like it anyway.

That's one hell of a windstyler you got there. I would love to find a set of ladder bars that didn't cost $200. I like to ride my bikes. I don't have money for a carpet queen.

Re: 1985 Hutch Wind Styler
I don't like Windstylers (and would never sell a Trick Star for one), but I do like how yours turned out. How does it ride with the spokeys?

My buddy has a pair of ladder bars that came on his survivor Windstyler. He wants $60 shipped or $50 local pick-up for them. His museum name is djkevind. Hit em up soon, hes about to put em up on his for sale thread.

Re: 1985 Hutch Wind Styler
I ain't hatin', J. I gave your Windstyler more love than I've given any Windstyler since 1984. And what thanks do I get? I get called a hater.

Re: 1985 Hutch Wind Styler
Thanks for the man love bro. You can ride my bikes any day. I especially like the fact that you like my Hutch more than anybody else's Hutch. You are a real man an deserve an apology.
