Sears Spyder 500

Sears Spyder 500 - late 1960s- early 1970s issue. I only submit this to the museum for preservation and documentation purposes. I realize this is pushing the definition of BMX a little bit.

"What kinda bike do you have?"
"It's a sledgehammer."
"Shocks, Pegs, Lucky!"
"Ever take it off any sweet jumps?"

Seriously though its an interesting bike- love the bars and that paint job is pretty sweet!

I like it! Is it stock? Almost has a lowrider look to it. Very cool!

ya that was stock. That bike was cool. I had to post it so it will be on the internet *forever*, or at least in 4 years after we kill all the honey bees smile

Re: 1970 Sears Spyder 500

Nostalgia!

I had one of these and I loved it!  The handlebars came wrapped with gold grip tape similar to the Sears Screamer.

It was a very comfortable bike.  When I was a teenager, I got a ten-speed and I removed the handlebars and banana seat and put them on my ten-speed.

I know, I know - sacrilege!

Seeing this bike brings a tear to this forty-something man's eye...

Nice bike. Is that gears or brakes on the back wheel?
