1981 GT 24

Original Santa Ana Cruiser

Got this gem from a yard sale off the original owner. He had it built to race but never raced it. It sat in his garage for over 25 years before I saved it. 1981 GT 24" Frame, undrilled GT forks, Uncut GT cruiser bars with 1st gen. Oakley grips, OG Pro Neck stem, Dia-Compe MX900 brakes w/Dia-Compe lever, Cycle Pro Shot Gun seat (red rails), fluted seat post, Cycle Pro seat clamp, deep red Araya 7x rims w/Sunshine hubs (NOS, no brake rub), yellow label Mitsuboshi Comp III tires (still have factory powder on them), Maxy Cross 3pc. cranks w/ Sugino BMX 44 sprocket, KKT lightning pedals. With the exception of some light surface rust in a few places and some discoloring on the red annodized cranks and hubs, this bike is near NOS!!! I cant tell you how much I got it for...You'd have to kill me! I will say that I could probably sell just the Oakleys for more than I paid for the whole bike! edit* since I got this bike about 2 years ago my fat ass sat down on the nose of the seat and snapped it, I replaced it with a NOS Viscount Dominator seat, I traded the black comp III's for a set of red Mitsuboshi yellow label Comp III tires. and got a set of California Lite pads. Still looking for a set of repro GT pads and set of red Skyway tuffs to finish it off.

**6/19/11 update: Been wanting Tuffs on this for a while and couldn't find any in Red, so I changed the color scheme. Got some Skyway's in black, changed some parts (thanks to Porkchop!) got a black Dominator seat, black VR Beartrap pedals, black A'me Tri grips, red anno headset...and this is how it stayed for a WEEK! I found a set of red Skyway's in the for sale section and will post the new (old) red scheme shortly!

**7/8/11...Red Tuffs!

Sweet ride!

I don't have time for Nostalgia. I'm too busy thinking about the good old days.
