1988 Mongoose Decade Pro

This bike has been restored to its full glory, it has been completly dissasembled and all parts cleaned or replaced with corect ones.  this bike is still 90% original with only the wear items replaced ( cables, pads, tires). the only non-stock item is the kenda tires.  it has proclass series 5 hard annodized rims with the ACS RL rear hub. tioga compact disc chain wheel, sr or suguino one pc crank( cant remember which one), proclass seat and post, proclass freestyle handle bars, SR spin tech stem, dia compe front and 990 rear brakes , original paint and decals with the exception being the head tude decal (repro), tires are kenda gum walls.

Yep that's the one I've been looking for. Lovenit Gary.

They had SR cranks... the toughest one piece I've ever abused.

Re: 1988 Mongoose Decade Pro

Yeah but you could use a bolt on the other side of the frame hole and screw it into the peg. That's what my dad did to mine because he thought it was a bad idea to put pressure on the axel stud and risk messing it up or bending it.

I'm sure that's the case on this too.

Re: 1988 Mongoose Decade Pro

Actually the decae "PRO" had a single thread-in for pegs at the rear. I looked through all the photos I have of decades and the pros have the thread in to the rear.

Re: 1988 Mongoose Decade Pro

If it looks like this then it's the standard Decade dropout.

Re: 1988 Mongoose Decade Pro

I loved the bike when I was a kid. It's a late 80's asian import. As far as freestyle bikes go it's not nearly as valuable as the Haro. Hutch, Skyway, Redline bikes. The survivors I've seen that are complete are selling in the $80-150 range. Frames with some componants under $40.

The decade pro posted at the top of this thread sold on ebay. I think it was up for 400 and didn't sell and then I seem to remember it finally solf for $250 and that's the nicest one I've seen that's sold recently.

On the cover of the May 1990 issue of GO magazine it features a pic of DMC riding one the same model and color.....I always wanted one when they first came out and I still want one now.

Hey, Rayzor.  Be sure to post some pics of your new jewel.  I had the same bike until it was stolen.  it was my favorite of all of my bikes.  Watched the auction that got you this bike.  Congratulations.

The pink makes it an `87 (along with the serial number & other differences).
