1977 Mongoose Motomag

Puttin' together lots of vintage part to make a piece of History!

Last year I decided to put together the Mongoose that I didn't get for Christmas in 1976, so here it is. Started with a sweet freshly powder-coated motomag frame, ashtabula forks, cranks, neck and bars then began to add era-correct parts to make this into a late-70's dream. Lots of help from the boards here, so this is where I got this bike from: SantaAnaCruiser, martimagico, stevenbven, bmxcolorado, skywayray, pancho33, RDB and many others. I got parts from a lot of guys, and actually didn't end up using all of them, but I'm keeping them for the next build. I finished it up with parts from Ebay and my LBS, not that it'll ever be truly "finished". I've taken it to the local bmx dirt track and the skatepark bowls and it definitely turns heads!

Re: 1977 Mongoose Motomag

Sweet bike. It looks just like the one my buddy had in 78 when I rode my cheap department store special. I envied him, but still beat him every race. big_smile

When I was young, I lived vicariously through my buddies who were getting laid - always asking for details.
Now, I just live vicariously through your bmx scores.
