1981 Quicksilver MKII

Australian made, revive to be as close to how it would have left the shop in '81, with a mixture or survived, revived and NOS parts

Found leaning beside a house in the suburbs and purchased for $10 I decided to get this little piece of Oz history back into shape. With some of the original parts still intact and ripe for restoration, I acquired the remainder necessary and re-powdered the frame. Apart from the seat and the dropout savers this is as close as I could get it to original, the yellow tyres were probably not an option but are age and brand correct IRC's. Hope you like it...

Re: 1981 Quicksilver MKII

I find it hard to believe they would be sold with three arrow chain rings.
It's also interesting that they could make frames in Australia but not the bars or forks.
I guess it hard to bend cr mo.

Re: 1981 Quicksilver MKII

Why is that hard to believe? The chainring DID come on them. They never made forks or bars because it was cheaper to buy them direct from Tange. Most used TX500 or 1200's and the bars were Alps.
They were made less than 20 miles from my house.
There were a lot of aussie bmx companies back then that did make all their parts.
