seat post stuck?
not no more.
after soaking in your choice of lubes and rust desolvers .
if ya cant smack it down to brake it loose dont vice the seat tube
use a stem and fork as leverage.
this post is at the bottom ..right on bottem braket (stuck like chuck).alloy in cromolly bad news .
its been soaking in amonia for a week or so. plugged holes with bees wax
next pic should be victory

Re: seat post stuck?
If you can't get enough leverage with the fork a big azz hollow pipe breaker bar works really well! I have used the method many times when all seemed lost. ![]()

Re: seat post stuck?
A recommendation...take a piece of solid steel that fits the inside diameter and length of the seatpost tube, and stick it down in the seatpost to keep it from twisting and distorting inside the seatpost tube. Works great!!!

Re: seat post stuck?
this is the first time i tried ammonia it was recommended by someone on this site for aluminum in steel frame first i went slowly back and forth till i heard a click in both directions waited a little then clamped the cross bar heated the seat tube with a propane torch till the ammonia was bubbling then back and forth some more eventually it clicked more and more finally broke loose hard to believe since i could see the bottom of the seat post through the hole inside the bottom bracket that i sealed with wax so the ammonia would not drip out that was stuck seat post from top to bottom thanks Von

Re: seat post stuck?
how long did you let the ammonia sit before trying to work it ?
