1983 Mongoose Californian

custom chatsworth looptail

Fun project! Custom made the pads because i was sick of searching for OG ones and wasn'r into paying $150 for them either.Plus the white is neat. Couldnt be happier with them! Also Rebuilt the wheels and polished the hubs.

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

how did you print onto the pads to make them? thats cool, id like to do that myself instead of always getting into a bid war for dumb pads.

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

I had a single Handlebar pad that I took a super high resolution photo of then in photoshop I cut it out and remodeled some colors, then resized for the different pads and printed them on a sheet of Iron-on fabric and carefully cut them out. I wasnt sure if the iron transfer would stick to the blank white nylon pad, it stuck no problem .. i just had to keep the heat a little lower to keep from melting the nylon.

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

They aresnt some super high quality repop or anything tongue   Im sure if you stared riding them around rubbing your knees againsed them all the time the iron-on might start to peel or something, but it was good and stuck for show and light riding for the few years I had the bike.
