Re: Come on all you KUWAHARA guys

Here is my '83 LaserLite....It is Late '82 Serial #'d, and has the very oval tubing.
It has Excellent condition Red-Line Flites (6 spindle, double dimple, single pinch full wrap) Cranks, NOS Oakley B-1B's, NOS Redline V-bar (Made in Japan), NOS Dia-Compe Lever, NOS Suntour Stem, NOS California Lite Kuwi Pads, NOS Araya 7x hoops (laced by DansComp) with NOS Suntour Sealed hubs, Suntour Chrome 16T Freewheel, NOS Izumi Chrome Chain, NOS KKT Lightning pedals, excellent condition Laserlite Laidback post, NOS First Edition ELina Lightning bolt seat (with extra support bolt underneith, very early 80's), NOS Suntour Seat Clamp, Excellent Condition Dia-Compe 1000 Rear Brake, NOs Dia Compe Brake Pads, & Early 80's Dia-Compe Black Brake Cable

The high cost that I paid to build this is the reason I had to stop building bikes....Its way too addicting.  Every time I would buy a part an NOS one or better condition one would fall in my lap.
I still have some extra parts/different parts I am going to list soon...

Re: Come on all you KUWAHARA guys

This is the racing bike I bought for my 6 year old son...

It's an '07 Kuwahara (This styles name changed in '08 to LaserLite)  This bike is ridiculously lite.

that's the way to do it!...screw being factory correct!!...I build all my bikes just like I would have wanted them back in the day....which is hardly ever the way they came out of the factory.  The first thing I did back then when getting a new bike was upgrade a lot of the factory parts. (or as many as I could afford to anyway)
great job...looks nice with the flites on her.

Finally got mine in the museum, in "my bikes".  Used the same pics as before, but I want to get some good ones outside in the summer.

Re: Come on all you KUWAHARA guys

Nice job on the helmet! Looks great! I have a second decal set (w/ the white kuwi), set aside for the exact same reason. To use on a helmet if I ever choose to set one up with an old school kuwi theme. Not sure I ever will, but it's there if I get a wild hair. big_smile

Re: Come on all you KUWAHARA guys

what are you going to run for wheels? That thing would look so sick with some black tuffs on it. smile
I have to disagree about the stickers though...they're real nice-dont get me wrong...but to me a Kuwhara just has to have the the red dots. tongue  I can't help it...I'm old school:P lol

she's a great looking cruiser ...can't wait to see it finished!big_smile

Re: Come on all you KUWAHARA guys

I'm pretty sure the Japanese would like their Rising Sun honored, too! But they're different, kinda looks like Landing Gear fade/drip-ish. Me likey.

I'm doing up the Exhibitionist in NOS ORANGE with PINK Rising Suns, lol...yellow outline!
