Can you grab a picture of one of your sets? I feel like mine is missing the tab that hold the sprocket in place. Thanks!

Re: SR Cosmo - Lite 1 Piece Cranks

The ones I had came on a 86 GT stock. They also came on some Hutches around '86 as well. So I guess they are from 86. Didn't see them before that and didn't see them on anything newer that I can recall.

Thought my NOS 86 Streetbeat had a pair but I just went and looked and they say "SR TurboX Tubular Chromoly" Wonder what the difference is?

They came on the `85 & up Mongooses as well. The sprocket lug was just welded on the crank and came off quite frequently.

It seems that is common issue with these cranks.

It is a very common issue with these cranks. I was badly injured due to the lug snapping off on me while I was pedaling. I used to like them, but now I scrap every set I get my hands on to keep others from being injured like I was.
If the lug is missing on your cranks, then they are junk. When you try to pedal hard the sprocket will just spin.

well that just sucks if you are serious . they would be a stock item on many bikes . and people would want those for builds . some may not even get ridden .

True. But I have never been hurt by Maxy-Crosses.
If SR were still in business I would start a class-action lawsuit against them for their inferior product. I am sure others have been injured too. Use them at your own risk!

Re: SR Cosmo - Lite 1 Piece Cranks

I am no expert on SR Cosmo lite cranks, but I know that some SR one piece cranks have a pressed in chain wheel adaptor and some were welded on. I personally own the welded on Cosmo lite cranks and never had a problem . However, I have heard about the pressed in ones breaking.
