They were not exactly high end machines but owning one could make you the envy of the kids in your locality.

An 11 year old at my secondary school had a mint example in his garage. The reason it was mint was because he couldn't ride a bike. I'm inclined to say that he would have been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome nowadays. I have no idea what eventually happened to the kid, or the bike.
