Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag
Are you sure that Goose is an earlier model it seems pretty short almost like your 76 - by the way AWESOME collection of rides you have there .
. IL/WI Border area O.G.O.A.R.
Option #2 is in FULL EFFECT
Rule #9 :If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag
Great call, MADDAWG - that's a short frame! ![]()
I made this animated .gif for haywardbmxer but I got the year of the short frame wrong (it's supposed to say '76 - sorry!
)
WANT TO BUY:
A'ME goggles (black) with the black strap and white font on it that says A'ME from the 1980s
"GEAR" RACING PANTS from 80s - size 32"-34"
zeronine gloves "Wrist-Wrap" (black and white)
1982-83 Mongoose helmet wrap-around decal
pm or email
Totally missing the point since 1971.

Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag
"It looks like someone put the bike in storage 30 years ago and it fell into my hands in 2008. Great Tucson bike. It doesn't get much better than this."
I love the finds where it's just been sitting somewhere for 30 years.
It would be really interesting if your frame really is a '78. It could be one of those rare Mongoose factory anomaly. Here's the page I use for research: http://www.vintagemongoose.com/frame/serials.php
Great find, indeed ![]()

Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag
They still made short frames in 78, I have 2 of them.
I think 78 was the last year for them though.

Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag
I've had both, still have both shorts and standard Goose frames. I have a few frames that I'm looking at building up. I figured I'd start with the oldest first. I have most of the parts, with the excepting of wheels.

Positive its a 78, It looks short. Unlike the 76, no gusset between the seat and bottom tube.
