1998 GT Performer

This was going to be my daily rider. But it came out a little better than I anticipated so it'll just see some light riding.

**SOLD** Got the frame for $30 on eBay. The forks were in a back room at the shop I work at. Got 'em FREE!!!! The frame came with pink and blue decals and the forks came with green and blue. I liked the green and blue better and the only green and blue ones I could find just said "Performer". Most of the other stuff I had laying around. I worked all kinds of overtime to pay for this build. Now I wish I could stop working so much so I could actually get home at a decent hour to go ride. FRAME: 1998 GT Performer; Chromo main tubes

FORKS: 1998 GT Performer; 4130 Chromoly, 1-1/8" threadless; PacMan dropouts
STEM: GT Piston stem; stamped "Made In U.S.A."; 1-1/8" threadless
HANDLEBAR: GT; 4130 Chromoly
GRIPS: Animal Edmin grips; w/ Eastern bar ends
HEADSET: FSA The Pig; 1-1/8 threadless
CRANKS: Red Line Flights; 180mm
PEDALS: Primo Super Tenderizer; 9/16"
CHAINRING: Profile Imperial; 44T
CHAIN: KMC K710 Kool Chain; 1/2" x 1/8"
FREEWHEEL: ACS Claws; 1/2 X 3/32 CP 16T
RIMS: Araya Super 7X.; double wall; 48H; 20x1.75
HUBS: GT high flange; 48H; 3/8” axles
TIRES: Maxxis Hookworm; 20x1.95
SEAT: Demolition D1
POST: GT laid back; 7/8”
CLAMP: GT dual bolt; 1”

Re: 1998 GT Performer

Finally got my new wheels laced! cool These were hanging from the ceiling at the shop I work at. I thought there was just one so I never paid that much attention to it. I almost pooped my pants when I found the other one. I got the hubs off of eBay.

I'm running an Odyssey GTX-R aluminum gyro with sealed bearings. Smooth like butt-ah. cool

As far as the brake bridge, who knows? I did buy the frame off of eBay. Whoever sold it to me could've switched the decals. It might be just a Performer. I still have yet to see another 98 with these type of decals. I don't remember seeing any like that in the 98 catalog. Going by the S/N, I thought it was a 98. Could it be a 99?

Yeah Duke, this is what the frame looked like when I got it so your guess is as good as mine. lol. Auction listed it as a 98. I was just going by that, the decals and the S/N.
