1980 Thruster Tri-Power
My old school Thruster restoration project..
This is my baby. I bought this from my cousin for $150 when I was 16, and never let go of it. I'm thinking it's an early version because of the tube style brake mount on the back(?) It came with the Blue Araya aluminum rims shown and the "teardrop" forks. I also bought a new DK stem for it, and never used it, because at the time, I was getting into freestyle flatland, and the DK stem didn't have a hollow stem bolt...I'm not sure who made the forks, maybe skyway(?) Anyway, it's a survivor. I'm thinking about restoring it, rechroming and everything, and putting it back together as a BMX, with rear brake only, if I can find new decals for it. I've always loved this bike, and never seen another one around here, only here on the museum site. The welds on this thing are incredible, and I always liked the rear dropout design.
