2012 Supercross Blur 24 Pro XL
A very fast bike for a very slow rider!
I got into BMX racing because my son and daughter started and really enjoyed it so I bought a new 2010 Redline Proline 24 to start. After a few months of upgrades for my kids, I decided I wanted to try and build a custom race bike for me and my wife basically said "I'm tired of hearing about you needing this and that for BMX - just go get anything you want/need at once and be done with it!" I couldn't believe she just gave me a blank check to buy anything I wanted so I rushed online and bought it all before she changed her mind. What a lady!
I started racing in February of 2012 in the 36-40 old guy cruiser class and am having a blast! I'm not very good compared to the guys/gals that have been racing for years, but I am relatively athletic and pick up things pretty quickly. I raced BMX twice when I was around 10 years old (busted out my front tooth in my first race and my mom said it was too expenisve to continue... booo!) and dabbled in motocross for a short while, but otherwise have no experience. I've learned pretty much all of my skills from watching the "Stiles Racing : How To Race BMX" DVD... LOL. I usually finish top three in all local and state races so I do ok. We are going to try our first national in Orlando for the Disney Cup in a couple of months and we are all stoked about that.
Anyway, here's my ride that I am pretty proud of. It's way more bike than I can do justice but at least I can never use the excuse that the equipment isn't good enough!
