1986 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
Retro Rod type restoration, to me I used the best parts of then & now but kept it old school overall.
I started this project about 10 years ago & in that time my life changed a great deal. I got married had a baby and finally got to finish it, recently... My approach was to try to find as many NOS old school parts as I possibly could, cost wasn't an issue. I just wanted it to be right. I wasn't planning on keeping it completely original , I just wanted it to be a cool bike with great parts from then & now. The frame & fork was purchased from Ebay in 2002 it was very rough & black in color. I own a body shop so I was able to look through all the color charts & find the right one. Its an iridescent sky blue that almost glows in the dark. I couldn't find a sealed Bear trap MX-2 headset so I went with the Chris King which IMAO is a Superior product. The rest of the parts were acquired through the BMX Museum & old local bike shops in my area over the last 10 years.
I hope you like it.
