1979 Schwinn Sting
This Sting was purchased from the original owner after 12 years of knowing about it. The owner called me in response to a "Sting-Rays Wanted" ad I had posted in a supermarket. After countless attempts to make ther deal happen, I was finally able to purchase the bike in April 2012. This Sting was not purchased to race and was used just to ride around the neigborhood. Lucky kid! The good point for me is I have a survivor Sting that was not hammered on and only had a few parts changed. I have it pictured here in its uncleaned state. The only two things I did were remove the number plate from the handle bars and cleaned off most of the blue paint from the original B18 seat. The owner painted it blue back in the day to try to match the blue Team Schwinn components. I will update the pictures once I get it cleaned up and add back correct parts.
