1995 S&M Challenger XL
It's Blingtastic!
The first time I rode a Challenger XL was in 97 after I broke my Mongoose Carbon. I was living in Japan, and the guy I hung out with the most was S&M's Factory hot shoe in Japan in the early 90's. He had about 10 Challengers in various states of decay laying around in his yard. I picked the one with the least rust, and fell in love with it the first time I rode it. Fast forward 10 yrs, and when I decided to start riding again, this was the frame I was looking for. My first one was a '92 with a 1" threaded Pitchfork. This time I wanted the 1 1/8"/canti combo. I picked this frame up on the 'bay for $20.50. As I was building it for a rider, I wasn't so concerned with picking period correct parts, just what appealed to me at the time. BTW if anyone has a line on a set of Challenger International Series decals, hit me up. dplatt420@yahoo.com
