2007 S&M 38 Special 24

This was a long time coming. I had always admired the RV Race frames. I had e-mailed S&M several times a year over a 4 year period. Usual response was that the jigs couldn't go that long or the stock tubes weren't that long. When the .38 Special was introduced in late 2006, with the stamped headtube, I knew it was time. So I thought I'd email Chris Moeller one last time and wouldn't you believe it. So after negotiations on measurements and price it was under way. I was still in shock that this was happening. So around the end of April '07 it was delivered. One word - Beautiful - Stock silver with the new RV XLT bars powdercoated at the same time as the frame. The components are : S&M logo grips, Tektro Talon lever, S&M Redneck XLT stem, Campagnolo Record headset - yeah, the top of the line one with the carbon race and top cap, why not it's a custom bike - Thomson post, S&M Thin seat, Avid Ultimate brakes/ Shimano XTR cable, True Precision Stealth hubs laced to Sun Rhynolite XL rims/ spokes, Maxxis Holy Roller tires, Profile cranks/ euro bb,Imperial chainwheel and chain tensioners, Shimano DX pedals, KMC k-810 directional chain. It rides and handles real nice.
