1979 Redline MX-II
Survivor / everyday rider
Early serial (02x-xxx, so '79 or '80) American-made Redline MX-II. I picked up this awesome frame in nice og condition (decals, 1 ding on the bottom of the downtube, normal wear with no pitting), '80 stamped Tange forks (original?), 79' stamped DC caliper, and og headset from Psycho (thanks Greg.) There is no way I'd ever refinish a frame as original as this. No point in finishing off old regular-wear items on a rider, either, so in addition to a new headset, the A'me grips, tires, chain, cable, MKS pedals, and Sugino bb are either nos, newer, or repop. Breakdown of survivor parts: Redline Brute (og to another f/f I have), Race inc. chromo bars, Suntour/Araya 7X wheelset, Dura Ace 175 cranks (40.00 on the Bay w/ a PPP cr - that one made me happy), Race Inc chromo seatpost, Excaliber spc, Velo seat (500b survivor, why trash an Elina?), and DC Tech3 lever.
