1984 Redline 500a
In-progress catalog build of my very first "real" BMX bike.
--
My pride-and-joy. This bike truly shines and is very close to being catalog correct now. Will take better outdoor photos in the spring when all the snow melts to show her better.
--
F/F/bars are too nice to rechrome or resticker, will stay as-is.
--
The Owner's Manual is the actual Owner's Manual from my original '84 500a I bought new in November 1984.

2-20-2010: Updated first pic of current state of the 500a. Only things that are not correct/original in that first photo (tan wall background) are:
* Chain is new and is incorrect.
* Pedals currently NOS KKT AMX's - should really be VP-468, but since AMX's are correct for an '83 600a, I'm going with these. This is an early '84 serial, so it's possible. Would like to find some super nice/NOS VP-468's though.
* Cheng Shin tires in photo are new, but I have the correct NOS Cheng Shin's to install when I'm done riding this.
* I have repro chainstay stickers to replace these super-worn ones, but have not yet installed them.

For reference: This bike has the correct seat, fluted aluminum seat post, Fuan F1-style grips (marked "NBL" on ends), Win stem, Suntour-style seat post clamp, Ukai shiny-side (not speedline) rims with Suzue hubs, date-code correct D/C brake cable, and long/straight brake lever. Extremely close to correct now, with the exceptions noted above, and is intended to be a reference 500a build.

Also pictured is the older cousin to this bike, my '83 Redline 600a.

Larger pics will be posted in thread below.
Thanks! This is a childhood dream come true (again!)
