1977 Redline MX-II

1977 MX-II developed for the Expert rider and no squareback.

In 1977 the Squareback was replaced with a traditional rear end to lighten the frame yet keep it strong.  Geometry was modified to make it longer with slower steering and keeping the '76 gusset for great looks and strength.

Redline began to expand their product offerings with the famous V bars and redefined Redline Proline double clamp stem thoroughly tested by Byron Friday.  The stem features a 45 degree angle brace allowing for more surface area to be welded for strength.  The clamps in '77 were the same as the '75 prototype stem but Redline modified to increase the size for more gripping power, strength, and stamped for Redline quality.

Redline never produced the prototype Redline seat post clamp pictured and Byron didn't know why either?

The bike features era correct parts and the Femco rims are NOS with all of the spokes/nipples revived (hand polished) laced up with a Bendix coaster brake and Bicycle Motocross tires.

Hope you all enjoy another historical Redline ride.
