1980 Profile Champ Pro

Here is my RARE very early Profile Champ Pro frame from 1979-1980. No Crossbar!

Ok, here is my early profile frame that I picked up, and finally built. No serial number, but experts have said that this is back when Hutch/Profile existed and went through lawsuits before profile added their crossbar. Also the Head badge decal has the red outline around wings and red circle around decal with clear around that, which I believe is the earlier ones.

You can see that there are NO holes in the rear drops, NO crossbar, OG early decals, thick down tube and thinner top tube, and filed dropouts.
Here is some history I found on this (thanks to member troynlori) also from member JS-44SDS, thanks guys:

...interview with Hutchins on JJR or somewhere it talks about the time period where Profile and Hutch first split (I think this was around '81).  That's when Profile's didn't have the cross tube.  Then Hutch made a stink about it, and to address it from a legal issue Profile just put in a cross tube, and away they went.  If you look in the Museum, even the '81's had a cross tube.  I think the split was right around then so, yeah, it's got to be that time frame.
