1998 Powerlite XXL - BMXmuseum.com

I found this mid school beauty on Craigslist as a complete rideable bike and knew I needed to add this one to the herd. The bike was beat down, but love at first sight (sorry wifey) price was right too. So this XXL truly found a great home. As soon as I saw the bike I knew I wanted the frame black and the fork white, although polishing it out was heavily considered as well. I went with newer/lighter race parts as this bike will see track time once again. I was going to replace the stock fork with a newer one, but realized that the fork was unusually light at 33oz. The fork has really thin dropouts as well as a really thin steer tube, even the leg tubing feels lighter overall. The steer tube was stamped "RACE" in large block letters too. Strange. Never seen another Powerlite fork like it. This mid school dream is long, light, rolls super smooth, handles extremely well. I love bringing these bikes back to life and bringing them out to the track where the real fun begins......Long Live BMX.
