2000 Powerlite P-51 Mustang XL
A BIKE THAT WILL NEVER HAVE A PRICE TAG.
I came across these bikes for sale in the museum and saw that they were not selling, it was getting close to Christmas. I gave empty daddy a call and we had a long talk. In May of this year he lost his youngest daughter to cancer. He told me during his daughters treatments she was given gifts donated durring the holidays so he was selling the bikes for Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego to buy gifts for the children in Hematology & Oncology. We shared tears on the phone, I had just lost my grandmother who raised me. I told him that me, my wife and children were going to mail him toys to give a helping hand, it was not about the bike it was about being a parent. So my wife and the kids helped me pack a big box of toys, they felt his pain when i told them. My wife and I looked at his daughters website and broke down in tears. We mailed out the box of toys as quick as we could before Christmas.
UPS dropped the powerlite off on my door step ,i was touched. When I called him I asked him what his daughters racing number was and her color, that is why there is purple on the bike and the number six. We still talk ,even on Christmas. I look at him as a brother to lean on for a ear along with my wife. I will always be there for him, my life long friend.
The bike rides great and I lower the seat for the kids when they want to ride it.
THE GREATEST GIFT IN OUR LIFE IS OUR CHILDREN. My youngest daughter Karina wanted to be in the photo. His daughters website is www.supporterin.com - if it wasn't for the BMXMUSEUM this wouldn't have happened, people should think about that before bashing this website.
