1978 Team Mongoose
Mine was stolen and I never got over it!
This was a project bike for me and my 12-year old son. I had a 1980 Team Mongoose when I was a kid. It was stolen outside of the local arcade in downtown Ann Arbor in 1983. When my son got the BMX bug there was no doubt what type of bike we were going to build.
We purchased the frame and fork from a Museum member in Michigan back in June and then sent it to Chip at C4 for complete restoration. It was freshly nickle plated and then powered in Mongoose Candy Blue. Most of the parts were purchased from Museum members, except for the Stamped SS Bars, Stamped SS Post, and Gold Stem - we found these attached to a Motomag we purchased in a small town bike shop in southern Michigan. They are all mint - we parted out the rest of the Motomag and end up making $600 on the deal!
