2002 Mongoose Menace
Re-born "custom" Goose
My first restoration project. This one now belongs to my 11 year old son Tom, his older brother Dan has owned the bike from new, it was originally his Christmas present in 2002. Originally dark green, with black Alex rims, it was ridden and enjoyed for 3 years until the brake blocks wore through the rims and the wheels collapsed, the bike was hung in the garage with the intention of re-painting and new wheels, but our '04 Villian came along cheap and took its place. Tom wanted a BMX to ride as an alternative to his mountain bike, a great excuse for a re-build!
Tom chose the colour and most of the components for the build, the Frame was stripped to bare metal and re-painted in Ford Aporto Red, The bars and forks gloss black, custom gold and black decals were made up to finish.
Rest of spec as follows:
- Original Mongoose Menace 2002 Frame re-painted in Ford Aporto Red acrylic
- Original Mongoose Bars re-painted gloss black
- Mongoose Stem and Seat post
- New Mirra-co Cro-mo Racing forks 10mm drop outs
