1976 Mongoose
"Black Bird"
This is my latest Mongoose build with absolutely no decals. It's still in the mock up stage... The logos and decal graphic impressions are brilliant Nickel under a matte black finish. As Skip Hess first called the Mongoose "Black Bird" before going into full bicycle production, I'm building this unique Goose in the spirit of his prototype. This is a work in progress... Finished this up today, May 15th, 2009. Slapped on some Simi Motomag 1's, Ashtabula "non-stamped" cranks, forks and stem, KKT Rat Traps, Mesinger saddle, Natural Hunt Wilde grips and a Three Arrows Sprocket.
