1982 Team Marlboro Zapper
After searching long and hard.....Doomchild on here responded to my name the frame thread. Check out his Team Marlboro Christmas day 1981
This is a rider for shows and general chucking about. I saw this frame and fork combo on eBay a couple of years ago and bought it as an unknown BMX for £20. I loved the lugging and the welds on it and thought it would be a good start for a rat build. So thats what I did made up of cheap old school parts and some not so cheap.... but bits I had lying around so to speak.
so this is it
Frame & Forks - 1982 Team Marlboro Zapper
Headset - New Black Cheapie (strange cup size so couldn't get any 80's stuff to fit)
Seat Post - Sturmey Archer came welded into the frame!! (again strage size hence the late cheap clamp!!)
Seat - Immo Cheap Shite Haro
Stem - Polygon from a 1985 Mini Burner
Handle Bars - Old steel Raleigh early 80's painted black badly and going rusty
Grips - Damaged Kuwahara Tange early 80's
Brakeset - Raleigh Forigner (early 80's standard fit on Raleigh BMX) Vans Brake Blocks!!
Chain Ring - Tuf Neck 43 Teeth with Tuf Neck Power Disc mid 80's
Crank - One Peice Takagi CrMo 180
Wheels - Unknown Mags maybe ACS??? Mid 80's maybe copies ??
Tyres - New Cheng Shin White walls
Pedals - Mini Burner MKS
It actually rides really well and I think its got a bit of retroness about it.!
