1981 JMC Short Standard
81' JMC Flea Market Find
Probably my best find so far. Found this JMC at a flea market in Georgia about 4 years ago. The guy had a bunch of bikes (mainly cheapies) asking $10 a piece. I spotted this one and didn't have any cash! I asked if he would hold it until I found my wife and came back with cash, to which he replied "I can't make any promises." I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life. Well, obviously, it was still there when I got back. Parts include UKAI 1 3/8" dark blue rims, Blue/Silver Sunshine flip-flop hubs, Uni seat and seat cover w/ACS seatclamp, Suntour VX cranks w/Sugino chainring and sealed cartridge BB, MKS pedals, Tioga headset w/Tange lock and Blue Dirt Skirt, and GT mini stem. F/F Blue powdercoat is a pretty good match to original color and I powdercoated the alloy bars white for a personal touch. Finished off with white rub-on decals from Jim Melton.
