1980 JMC Black Shadow - BMXmuseum.com

I bid on this on eBay and lost. Then, a few months later, I made a trade for "another" JMC Black Shadow that was posted here. Turns out it's the one that got away.

Went for a different approach on this one. I was tired of gold and black. I have strong memories of people doing all sorts of colored stuff back in 1979 and 1980. Stuff like red rims with alternating red and blue spokes with contrasting nipples and blue hubs with blue tires. It was often a little over the top. I dug some of it, but could never afford to do one up just right. I wanted to do this bike in colors, but still keep it tasteful. I like what I came up with.

The headbadge was my inspiration. I wanted to use as much Suntour stuff as possible. I think all that's missing is a headset lock. Don't want to use their stems. And, I wanted to build it for a big kid, so Flights and bigger bars were in order.
