1985 Hutch Trick Star
Replica of my childhood bike
I built this bike to replicate the one I rode back in 85-87. I ended up selling mine when I went to college. Over the years I never lost interest in bikes, getting into mountain biking and also a little road, but last year I really wanted something fun to ride w/ my kiddos. I thought of getting a single-speed and then had a random thought of trying to get a Trick Star. That's how I found this group. I got the f/f from the original owner who purchased it in 85. It, along w/ a bunch of parts, were re-powdered by Chip at C4 - thanks Chip! I got a lot of sound advice and parts from many members here, particularly dblglazed, dcbmx1, and lowrider. Thanks guys! It's not built up exactly the way my old one was, (ex: I swapped spokes for the Peregrines b/c I always thought that they were too heavy & and didn't want to spend a lot of money of things that would wear out like grips, tires, & brake pads), but I think if I still had my original, this is how it would be dressed up today. I'm so happy to have a Trickstar back in my garage.
