1986 Hutch Trick Star
1986 Hutch Trickstar
Frame and Fork were expertly repaired and powdercoated by Chip at C4Labs to a show quality finish. Chip also powdercoated the CW Pro Bars, Hutch Layback seatpost, Redline Chainwheel, Tuf Neck Ace FS Stem, and Bullseye Hubs.
This is my first restoration and I'm extremely happy with the end result. As you can tell from the pics, the bike is rider as I don't believe in building carpet queens you can't enjoy. The frame is a Japanese Trickstar (get over it...) and the welds are excellent. The placeholder forks are from a Windstyler - Chip did such a nice job it would be a shame not to run them. They will get changed out at some point.
The rear brakes are run under the rear brake bridge (as necessitated by the curved ACS 860 Calipers). I could switch to Dia Compes, however, the brakes look cool there and function perfectly, with no crank interference. The handlebars are CW Pro Bars - I prefer the look of these to the Hutch bars.
Chip also built the wheels for me: ACS Z Rims laced to Bullseye Hubs. The tires are Vancom's.
