1985 Hutch Trick Star
This is my original gold plated Hutch Trick Star given to me by Richard Hutchins in 1986. The frame was built in December of 2005.
First, this bike was never stolen. The bike that got stolen was a futuristic black Hutch Trick Star with gold components and the wheels off of my gold bike were on that bike. That is where the whole rumor got started about my gold bike. Needless to say, I got another set of wheels built up for my gold bike and that was that. After I went to ride for Diamond Back I gave my gold bike away to a good friend of mine, Jeff Rugg. About 5 years ago I asked Jeff if he still had it, he said yes. I offered to buy it back and he just gave it to me. I spent about a year searching for a few special parts, cleaning, polishing, and re-plating parts. This bike is about 90% original. I had to get new tires, grips, brake cables, brake levers, and pedal cages. Everything else is as it was in 1986. Woody
