1984 Hutch Pro Racer
- Lightest bike in Somerton For a fat kid, being light was important
I got this bike in 1985, after my other Hutch was stolen. Checking out the serial number info, it appears to be a 1984, 0140005 i think.. The one that was stolen was chrome. When I got this, they only had white. Guys Bicycle's built this, but it did not look like this. I was 10 years old in 1985 when I got this, so i wasnt much of a mechanic. As the year went by and my skills grew, I replaced just about every part on this bike. Current status is Fred Z (cycle craft) handle bars, Odyssey Pit Bull brakes with Dia Comp mini lever, TNT neck, (Dirt Skirt) Dust cover on the forks, obviously a Hutch Pro Racer frame and forks, Uni seat (key for being light), TNT seat clamp, Araya Rims with Sealed hubs, Somehow a GT tire ended up on the front and back comp III. I has a Sugino crank, but it is stripped out, and I bend it hammering it off. But I still have the SR Speedtrap pedals in the garage ready to go back on when I get a new crank. I have been looking on ebay, but having a hard time getting one for the price I want. I want flight cranks, but who knows. anyway, these are the before pictures, i am going to restore this bad boy with a new powder coat finish. So stay tuned. And yes, lightest bike in somerton (ne philly). St Chris Bike track pioneer.
