1977 DT Racing Products

Where Mongoose Minigoose meets Redline Squareback. Rare custom BMX mini from Fremont CA.

Barn Score. Had to pay decent money for this but it was worth it. Tired hard to find info on this bike but still pulling a blank. The best info I have so far is from Bill at BMX Products. I sent some pics to him and he forwarded them on to some old race friends from the San Fran. area. He told me they remembered the bike company and would follow up with me. From what I got is there were a few people in that area making custom bikes in the mid 70's. Still waiting and hoping for more info.

From what I can tell this bike is a Chro-Mo nickle plated frame with square tubing for the seat and chain stays. Has Ashtabula cranks (175mm) forks and stem all date stamped 77. The handle bars are fluted alum. and who ever put them on must of had to really open the gooseneck. The seat post is also a fluted alum.. Takagi 3 arrows sprocket 40t dated 77.

Great wheel set. ACS large flange (date 77) front hub with steel Ukai's front and back wheels. Rear has a Bendix 70 coaster. The seat has no name on it but it has a Made in the USA stamped on the back of the vinyl leather.

The only bad thing about this bike is that it was broken at some point in its life and rewelded. The down tube looks like it broke in half and the top tube cracked. The welds look like they are doing the job but its was not done by a pro.

Great piece of Americana and rides well.

If you know any info on this bike please post.

Thanks.
