1999 Diamondback Assault 24

My grown mans All-school BMX fix...

1st build since I was a kid. Never saw 24" BMX's growing up. No matter how big or tall we all rode 20's. Every time I travel back home I take my 20" GT for a spin. I was thinking of shipping it but started looking locally. I started seeing 24's and 26's in the bike shops and got really interested. I'm old school so chrome it had to be. I found this on CL. I think I got a decent deal. Just needed a tube and brakes to ride. Had some surface rust that cleaned up pretty easy. It came with some nice parts from the jump. I wanted it to resemble my 20" GT but grown mans style. I've never had a carpet queen and didn't plan building one now. I got on line and got to work.

I've never been the type to keep anything original or period correct. The first thing we did with our bikes was remove the stickers. Then it was changing any part that made it look cooler, custom and ride faster. I had a white Dominator seat on it but it was killing me. Needed some padding and it was hell trying to find an all white seat. Found the White and brown Primo hemorrhoid seat and modified it. Found some white vinyl and reupholstered it. It looks good enough for me to cruise and get my Chrome and white point across.
