1977 Cheetah Competitor

Recently restored to the same specs as my first bike

OK, this is not the same as a Cheeta, but there is no place to put the darn thing. The bike is a Competitor Cheetah. It's a very lightweight bike, manufactured in Arizona back in the 1970s. My first BMX bike was a Cheetah, which I bought from PRE BMX in Issaquah, Wa. It did not take me long to ruin that bike by painting it a terrible shade of bluish-purple. I never expected to find another one, but the frame you see here was found on ebay in 2007. It was squished, and it was painted in a horrible shade of bluish-purple. Thanks to Rod Miles, it was properly repaired and painted to the correct shade of orange, matching my original bike. The only deviation from my original bike is the stem. My bike had an Ashtabula stem with knurled bars. I never liked that set up, and I had a non-slanted Cook Bros stem sitting around. I am currently missing a proper frame pad, and it would be great to see what the original stickers really look like.
