Riders ready......
This frame a bar set was sold to me by fella in the south bay, Fremont area, he was nice guy gave me good deal on this one few years ago. Though now I am pushing the over 40 mark here, I am planning a build on this one this fall. Stem has to be DK, wheels Vetula 32's yellow, gt hubs..... Now if I can find that set of painted blue Boss cranks anyone, think they are all chrome from what I have seen... Supposidly this is a team issued bike, a younger more experinced rider of course had this one???
I raced a lot of 17 over open class, lot of burned out BMXers back then mid 80's, I always placed well, lot of 1st, 2nd, several nationals back in the mid 80's Bakersfeild twice, Stockton twice, Salt Lake once, and Mile High 1985 at Colorado Springs it was a swamp with the 9 inches of rain in just one night, they brought dirt in to dry the track out, but soft spot were everywhere. Prior to all this I ran my first race in San Francisco at the Cow Palace 15 open class 1984, and even managed to find my way to Sumner Valley BMX park where the ESP stems, and BMX have some very deep roots also summer 1984... man those were the days and they don't make them like they used to...! I can't forget Moffett Field in the south bay, I was in my prime then 1985 I felt there were better riders at this local track than at the National Events..., go figure... ? I work for Hank & Frank Bicycles in Oakland 1986 to 1987, Dave Vanderspek RIP, but started working on bikes at a small shop in Alameda in 1984, my first real love for bikes back then....
OLD SCHOOL RULES, may the youth of today find what I found in BMX, and the dirt lot next door simply called ' The Track ' back then..
