1981 Bassett Racing Twenty Four
My Holy Grail !!
Back in the day my dad owned a Boat shop out here in San Diego. All his Drag boats ran Bassett Racing Headers, so when I got back in to BMX I wanted to find one of these super rare cruiser's.
These are unusual in that they use a 20" rear triangle. It makes selecting cranks and gearing a challenge. 21 1/2 top tube and about a 15 chain stay.
All Bassett Headers come with a "Bassett" badge welded to them, Just as all Bassett BMX frames do.
The 1/4 mile drag boats were often called "Plastic Fantastic's"
So in their honor I used many "plastic" parts.
Sooo Here's my "Plastic Fantastic"!
