This bike was purchased as a "Trial" or "Tester" bike for the 2011 Racing Season. My younger brother and I raced JMC's in our younger years so the Retro Azusa looked like a good cantidate for the job.Ted not being on a track since 2000 and myself since 2001 we needed to find a bike, build it and see if this would work for us.We were going to do this in two steps...Build this one to test and if satisfied we were to part out his 1988 S&M Mad Dog to build the second one.We started buying and trading for the parts needed to finish the first build.Sadly Ted Passed February 6th 2011 before the completion of the project and never got to take the newest additon to the fleet for a spin.I finished the Bike as a tribute to him.It made its debut in Rockford 2011 for the Nationals where it won Best Retro and Tied for Best in Show.Since then it has turned into my primary rider and a few of the parts have been swapped but still remains a Very Good Representation of what we would have ridden and raced in our younger years. It proudly sits next to the Mad Dog in the shop at home.Today would have been his 35th Birthday.
