1995 Auburn CR-20RX
CR20RX Alloy Works Link.
SOLD . . .
Auburn came into the picture just as I was getting out of BMX/Racing in 80's. My post college life started when Wizzard Publications pulled the plug on the Mighty BMXA Magazine and Freestylin' nor the replacement rag GO did not really do it for me. Like many old schoolers we went to work while our youthful passion sat and waited to be rekindled. Fast forward to 2003 I foolishly sold off my race bikes. Summer of 2012 I fell in love with a local CG listing on a green complete. It was a natural to get an Auburn as the bug bit me. Something about the alloy Works Link. Unsuccessful negotiations led my son and I to NW Indiana via a failed eBay listing for a red complete. Spent past the year picking up two other CR20's! While parting out things I am pretty sure I ended up with wrong year fork. Struggled over "era specific" and settled on "build what I like." BITD Skyway Graphites were always something I dreamed of but I could never come up with the scratch. Wife asked "What are you going to do with that bike? " My reply, "This will be yours." She was the first person ever to ride it (2x) and now she has her 1st ever BMX . . .kind of sexy eh? Shouts of thanks: Ultrahots, Bender, Teabeats, Brobmx & LBS Edgebrook Cycle, Chicago IL-Jimmy, Mary & Big Jim.
