Date stamped 12-76 Ashtabula, updated mid-80's, restored May-June 2013
I've owned this bike since 1977, purchased from South Side Cyclery in St Louis. It was my street, trail, and dirt jump bike, and shows it's hard use. The majority of the welds are cracked, nobody's riding this one anymore.
Powder coat by Denco in Herculaneum MO, re-popped Ashtabula decals from ebay, and final assembly (6-9-14) by the awesome JKey.
It was two-tone blue and red for more than 25 years, but for the "restoration", I decided to return to a mix of original colors and updated parts.
The Tuf Neck stem and seat clamp, Tioga layback seatpost, CW(?) bars, Shimano MX-20 pedals, and replacement Ashtabula cranks were added in the 80's update.
The Akisu forks, metal flange Tuffs, Pro Neck chainring and dynaMAX seat were all sourced from BMXMuseum members.
