1975 Ashtabula
Before Chrome Molly there was Steel!
Riding the creek beds of Hellyar Park in San Jose in the mid 70's this bike was great fun.
It was on the heavy side as the frame weighed in at 6 1/2 pounds but most bikes of that era were tanks.
But let me tell you at the time it was a real step up from my Stingray.
This bike also had the first tough wheel in the neighborhood. You should have seen them. They laughed and teased me about buying these silly plastic wheel and wanted to know what kind of goof ball I was.
In 6 months everybody in our posse had a set of Tuff Wheels.
